Adversity

Jesse James the Man and the Myth

The wondrous biography "Jesse James the Man and the Myth" by Marley Bryant presents Robert(Jesse James) having a very troubled life. As a child Robert had to deal with his father and his mother dying when he was just about nine. Evidence from the book states, "A lifetime of peaceful invulnerability, however, was not to be Robert's reality. Things changed drastically for Robert when he was nine years old. John and Polly James fell ill and died within months of each other that year." I know how hard this had to be on young Jesse(Robert). Losing parents is a hard thing to go through.  Especially for a nine year old. From my understanding the part of the reason why Jesse grew up to be a professional bank robber is because he didn't know any better.
